Businesses invited to experience green vehicle solutions

A national event is taking place in Corby to highlight the benefits of efficient transportation to businesses, whilst showcasing some of the latest clean vehicle technology.

On Tuesday 23rd September, businesses from Corby and across the country are invited to attend GreenFleet Arrive’n’Drive, a national event, which aims to give fleet managers the opportunity to try out the latest clean vehicles and put them through their paces at Rockingham Motor Speedway.

Over 100 types of vehicles will be on show and available to try, with electric and range-extended technology featuring prominently. Some of the confirmed exhibitors include BMW, Ford Motor Group, TomTom and Siemens.

A number of free workshops will be taking place, including several organised by Electric Corby, a community interest company supported by Corby Borough Council, which aims to establish Corby as a leading UK location for business and practical test centre for energy-efficient living and low carbon transportation.

Nick Bolton, Co-Founder at Electric Corby said, “We will be running a number of workshops from our Switched on Thinking dome, in partnership with several influential businesses in this sector, including Siemens, Cenex and the Logistics Energy Saving Trust.”

“Our aim is to help Corby companies gain from the benefits that efficient business transportation can bring and to highlight the low carbon living and transportation aspirations that we have in Corby”

Colin Boyton, Event Manager for GreenFleet said, “This event is now firmly established as the leading fleet efficiency gathering in the industry calendar, and we are delighted to be back at Rockingham, in Corby. The area really has become a leading light in the way forward for electric mobility, and we are delighted that Electric Corby will be joining us to showcase all the good work that the project has done”.
