The Revolution has started in Corby

A “smart energy” revolution to reduce the cost of electricity to business and residents has started in Corby with the launch this Friday (18th November) of Corby Community Energy.

As part of the “Our Woods” festival the Community Energy Dome will be outside the Corby Cube this Friday and Saturday (18th and 19th Nov) from 10am to 4pm. Thedome will be full of interactive information about where your energy comes from, how it gets to you and crucially, how you can save money and save the environment through smarter ways to use energy and use less of it.

There will be a specific presentation, Q&A and networking event for local businesses at 11.30 a.m. on Friday 18th although the Community Energy team will be on hand all day to talk with businesses and residents about reducing there energy costs and consumption. Nick Bolton, from Electric Corby said “The Government has confirmed they want to help energy consumers gain control of their bills and how much energy they use.

Smart technologies have a central role to play in this, and can provide consumers with greater control and choice. We are pleased that Corby is leading the way in this energy revolution and look forward to bringing that control and choice to the community.”
