Building business resilience to severe weather in Corby

28 January 2014 @ 9:15 am - 12:45 pm

Business Resilience Workshop

Electric Corby will host a ‘business resilience’ workshop on the morning of 28th January 2014. This Climate East Midlands and The Environment Agency event will help Corby businesses plan and adapt for climate change with a focus on severe weather events and how businesses can increase their resilience to it.

Presentations include:

  • the Environment Agency on flood risk mapping and flood warnings
  • Northamptonshire County Council on business continuity planning
  • the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health on the health and safety implications of severe weather
  • Climate East Midlands on current understanding of how patterns of severe weather are likely to change, and how this translates into risks and opportunities for businesses.

The workshop will involve discussion, interactive exercises, and signposting to tools and further information, so that each participant leaves with ideas for practical steps that they can take to make their business more resilient.

Please see the attached flyer for more information. Booking is essential – contact Charlotte Patrick on 01604 609393 or by email Charlotte.Patrick@northamptonshireep.co.uk
