Space may be the final frontier but when it comes to achieving a sustainable home planet, we still have to boldly go a lot further than we’ve gone before.
We’re looking for someone special to help us.
Zero Carbon Project Pioneer
We’re looking for a dedicated, self-starter to join our small team at our offices in Corby.
You will be keen to explore new, low carbon sustainable ways for humans to travel, work and live. This is a role where you can have a positive impact on the planet. You will be enabling the testing of new sustainable technologies and ideas at a community scale – learnings from which can be replicated across the world.
Brave pioneers listen carefully – you do not need to have a background in sustainability, energy, or mobility. In fact, we’re looking for the right person who has some proven project management skills and is willing to leave their comfort zone.
You will join a small team of individuals who work to assemble dedicated teams of experts to test technologies and enable change.
Electric Corby is a Community Interest Company formed to test and implement economically viable low carbon initiatives at a community scale. As a Community Interest Company, we’re not profit driven – rather we redistribute any profits we do make back into the community.
Since forming seven years ago we’ve designed and built a series of energy efficient eco-homes with self-generation and energy storage effectively eliminating energy bills for our buyers. We’ve created an electric vehicle charging network across Corby. We work on government and EU projects to create community pilots for novel low carbon living, mobility and workplace solutions.
As the world wakes up to the need for sustainable, low carbon action Electric Corby CIC is converting awareness into impact on a community scale by bringing new low carbon technologies and ideas to life.
You will be keen to pick up and push projects forward. This will involve meet community members and building teams of experts to help you succeed.
We have access to some of the best academic brains and private sector disrupters around. Your role will often be to facilitate project meetings and ensure that those with the knowledge know what they need to do in order to push the project forward.
The role will include elements of marketing and communication. You will be promoting on going project work on our website and social media channels and also organising events to drive community engagement and also disseminate project learnings.
We can offer you a flexible working environment where you can start, or finish, work early or late to suit your needs. There is also opportunity for remote working. We have a great office, but you can also work from home or a café or wherever you feel you need to. What really matters is getting the work done.
We are open to applicants requiring part time working arrangements. If you are the right person, we will build the role around you. We realise that we have a very broad role spec so if you’re the right fit and bring new skills to the team then we will help you to build your own role and help develop your expertise where we can. You can even create your own job title.
Finally, we will provide a workplace pension and free parking for our Corby office.
If this role excites you and maybe even nudges you away from an unfulfilling job then send your CV by 25 March with Zero Carbon Project Pioneer as the subject line in an email to [email protected]
First interviews will be on Friday 3rd April.
